24 hours in venice

It was a whirlwind trip, and our little group of travel companions was incomplete, but we all have children and interests and most of us have jobs, making it difficult to plan these little jaunts so that everyone can come. One of us arrived late and left early, but three of us were there exactly 24 hours. It went by quickly, and my clients chased me down from start to finish, but it is always good to get away, and Monday was just about perfect, with lots of walking, lots of talking, lots of cicchetti and a big seafood dinner at a dark, zany restaurant with live music. After dinner, the tables were pushed back and we danced until we could dance no more, then sat outside at the edge of the canal under the stars and talked and talked before walking back to bed.

We just spent 2 weeks in Venice, with a side trip to Vicenza šŸ™‚ Enjoyed it immensely (haven’t been back since 2003!) though the latter part had very humid days.
